Multiple injuries in Tennessee crash

Seven people were hospitalized after a three-vehicle crash at Brick Church Pike and Ewing Drive in Nashville on Aug. 22 caused by an alleged drug suspect fleeing a drug bust. The officers allegedly seized 20 kilograms of cocaine from a storage facility located near Brick Church Pike Road. Authorities estimate the cocaine's worth at $700,000.

The 31-year-old driver of a Hyundai sedan was one of five individuals taken into custody by Metro Nashville Police Department and other federal authorities in connection with the drug bust. Before being taken into custody, the man started traveling at high speeds as to evade police. He attempted to turn onto Ewing Drive but took too wide a turn and allegedly slammed into a special-needs Metro Transit Authority van head-on, police say. After being hit, the van hit a red car. Three passengers in the van were injured along with the driver. Three individuals in the car, including two minors, were also injured. All seven victims were transported to local hospitals and released later that day.

The driver who allegedly caused the accident tried to flee the scene of the car accident on foot prior to being arrested by police. Authorities claim that he was running counter-surveillance on a cocaine shipment.

Individuals who are involved in a car accident that wasn't their fault may hire a personal injury attorney to assist in pursuing compensation for medical bills, pain and suffering and lost wages. An attorney may investigate the accident to make sure the other driver was at fault. In addition, an attorney may work out a personal injury settlement negotiation on their client's behalf.
