Tennessee motorcyclist killed in accident

One motorcyclist is dead and another seriously injured in a crash on Barfield road that occurred on Sept. 13. According to a representative of the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the driver of a Mercedes allegedly failed to yield right of way, causing the fatal crash.

Cellphone use while driving is a widespread problem

Tennessee residents may not be aware of the dangers associated with using a cellphone while behind the wheel of a motor vehicle. According to various studies and statistics compiled by the Federal Communications Commission, there is a troubling correlation between distracted driving and auto accidents that result in catastrophic and fatal injuries. Partly because of these documented risks, lawmakers in several states have enacted laws prohibiting texting and other types of cellphone use while driving.

Man dies from his injuries in Tennessee car crash

A 50-year-old man who was involved in a car accident on Aug. 29 succumbed to his injuries the next morning. The accident reportedly took place around 9:30 p.m. at an intersection. According to police, a car being driven by a 19-year-old woman was headed north and attempting to go through the intersection.

Tennessee suspected DUI accident injures 2

Local authorities report that a three-vehicle accident that occurred in Knoxville around 7 p.m. on Aug. 25 left two people with various injuries. An ambulance transported both injured parties to UT Medical Center for evaluation and treatment. No other injuries were reported.
