According to the accident report, the crash occurred when a Dodge Ram driven by a 54-year-old Kentucky man failed to yield to an oncoming vehicle at the intersection of Little Elk Creek Road and State Highway 297. Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers say that alcohol may be a factor in the fatal head-on collision.

Woman on trial for accident that seriously injured 2

Two Tennessee women were severely injured in an accident that occurred on May 16, 2013, and the trial of the woman whom authorities say is responsible began on Nov. 17. She is charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, improper traffic lane violation and vehicular assault. Her attorney argues that the case should be a civil one and not a criminal one.
